Materials Used in Defense Component Machining

In the defense sector, material selection is critical. Dinoxsa works with high-performance materials designed to offer superior mechanical strength and corrosion resistance:

  • Aluminum alloy AW2017A (duralumin): lightweight and strong, used for light armor components
  • Alloy steels class 12.9: high mechanical strength for fastening elements
  • Heat-treated steels for armor or cold-machined components
  • Special stainless steels for sensitive parts
  • Other alloys according to customer specifications

We can also integrate specific qualification requirements or material testing into the production process when needed.

Finishing Processes for Defense Components

Finishes provide both protection and functional or visual properties adapted to the part’s operational environment:

  • Heat treatments: Hardening, Tempering, Annealing
  • Surface treatments:
    • Black oxide coating
    • Phosphating
    • Hard anodizing (for aluminum parts)
    • Anti-corrosion or camouflage coatings
  • Mechanical finishes:
    • Technical polishing
    • Shot blasting / microblasting
    • Tumbling
  • Engravings and markings:
    • Serial identification, incremental marking, date coding
    • Military color coding when required
